Shiatsu Therapy
Shiatsu massage is based on the Oriental medical system which explains the human body as a network of pathways or "meridians" through which living magnetic energy — "chi" — flows.  Proper flow of chi is vital to good health and well being.  If the energy flow is sluggish or congested, a person can become ill or feel tired and unmotivated.  If the energy flow is too rapid or overactive, one could experience tension, mental stress and muscle or nerve pain.  Shiatsu can restore and maintain proper balance and flow of "chi" in the body.

Shiatsu uses a wide variety of techniques.  These can include stretching the body, moving the joints through their full rage of motion and working directly on pressure points.  Although Shiatsu techniques are deep and strong they can be adjusted to each individual's need and body type.

Sessions are performed on the floor on a Shiatsu mat.  Because no oil is used, there is no need to be undressed for a shiatsu session.  One should wear loose fitting pants and top, preferably made of a natural fiber like cotton.
